Our men’s basketball team tips off its season at 7 p.m. Friday at EagleBank Arena. This will be our first game under new coach Dave Paulsen, who has been all over campus and in the greater community meeting program supporters and winning over new ones.
I am excited about the energy and enthusiasm that Coach Paulsen brings to the university and I am eager to see our team, with many new members, take the floor against Colgate. This is the only chance to see our Patriots play at home until after Thanksgiving, so come on out.
This season, we’re starting a new era, and honoring a past one: Throughout the season, we will mark the 10th anniversary of Mason’s magical run to the Final Four, one of the defining moments in our university’s history.
Let’s show up in full force Friday night, with the always rockin’ Green Machine providing the soundtrack, and start working toward winning another banner.
Our women’s basketball team also opens its season Friday, at Radford. The women’s home opener is Nov. 17 vs. Towson. Let’s all turn out for that one, too!
